BELGRADE – In a market dominated by various affordable and luxury tablets from major players, such as Samsung, Sony, Asus, HP and others, Belgrade-based company “Comtrade” decided to make a bold move and present its own brand - Tesla.
Tesla tablets are intended both for domestic and foreign market, and include both low-cost and a bit expensive models. We had an honor to be among the first to review the model Tesla L7, a low-cost tablet that will justify every penny spent on it.
Tesla L7 comes in a high-quality box with a great design. In the box you will find the tablet, charger, microUSB-USB cable, OTG cable and manual guide.
Tablet itself is of standard, rounded design, similar to other tablets on the market, yet a bit distinctive. Dimensions are also standard for a 7″ model (109.5×191.5×10.2 mm), the power button is located on the top, as well as 3.5 mm jack, minijack and volume buttons. And that is all. There are no buttons on the bottom or either side of the tablet, so there is no danger of accidentally pressing something while working. The tablet also has two cameras, 0.3 MPx front one and 3 MPx on the back.
The 7″ capacitive IPS screen with 1024×600 resolution is crystal clear, visible even on a very bright day. HD videos? Perfect.
Tesla L7 comes with Android 4.4 Kit Kat, powered by Intel Atom Z2520 1.2 GHz dualcore processor and 2 GB of RAM memory. You also have 8 GB of storage space, which you can always enlarge by adding a memory card – the device supports adding up to 32 GB micro SD card.
L7 is powered by a 3000 mAh battery, which lasted almost the whole day as we tested the device.
Menu is not overcrowded with a lot of pre-installed applications, only the basic ones are there, and “Comtrade” left to users to install the ones they need.
Applications work quickly and smooth, there are no slow downs even with more “complicated” stuff, however we found out that built-in Google Chrome Browser has some performance impacts and sometimes behaves strangely. But this is a Kit Kat problem, not L7.
In the end, Comtrade has every reason to be proud of its creation, as Tesla L7 presents its country of origin – Serbia and the company in the best possible way. There is no doubt L7 will be able to handle much more famous competition in Serbia and abroad, as it is currently possibly the best buy in its category.
