BELGRADE – Four trucks with more than 64 tons of food and other goods, humanitarian aid worth over EUR 35,000 that the people of Greece collected for those badly hit by the catastrophic flooding in Serbia in the second half of May, have arrived in Belgrade, ‘Vojvodjanska banka’ bank, member of the Greek NBG Group, said Thursday.
The aid collecting campaign, organized by the honorary ambassador of Serbia to Greece, Ms Kyriaki Panagiotidi, has been carried out with the support of Sky TV in Greece, and ‘Vojvodjanska banka’ has taken an active part in the organization of transportation of goods from Greece to Serbia, allocating over RSD 1 million for the purpose.
The people of Greece and Greek companies have once again shown great solidarity with the Serbian people. Since the beginning of the disaster, we have cooperated with the Red Cross of Greece and Greek companies and association, striving to provide all the necessary aid and assistance, and we are calling on all people of good will in Greece to continue to contribute, said Chairman of the ‘Vojvodjanska banka’ Executive Board, Marinos Vatis
