BELGRADE – Serbia’s Tax Administration has called on the citizens to help step up the fight against grey economy and introduce fiscal discipline, according to a release from the institution.
“For those who continue to hide their business activities, this is an opportunity to legalize them. Concessions on taxes and contributions for new employees have also been introduced recently. This is an opportunity for employers to enable their hard-working employees to exercise all their rights, including to health-care, pension and social security,” the website of the Tax Administration said.
The Tax Administration indicates that the penalties for failures to register workers and to issue fiscal accounts have become stricter and include ban on business activities.
The ban will be implemented consistently, initially for a week, and then also in 15-, 30- and 60-day intervals, the website said.
The Tax Administration says it will help conscientious taxpayers by introducing simpler procedures for the payment of taxes
